How to create a Calendly QR code

Experience scheduling automation for yourself!

Create a Calendly account in seconds.

Picture this: You’re at a conference in full networking mode, and you’re chatting with an awesome new connection. They want to schedule some time to continue the conversation after the event.

But all of a sudden, you hear music swelling — the keynote session you want to see is starting, and you have to run. You need to book a meeting with your new connection, fast

That’s where sharing your Calendly QR code comes in.

Whether you’re making new connections at a conference or on the go at a professional event, a QR code is the quickest way to share your booking page and schedule meetings with someone in person. Plus, creating a custom QR code is built into the Calendly mobile app — no third-party QR code generator required. If you already have the mobile app, you can start using this feature ASAP.

In this article, we’ll walk through the benefits of sharing your Calendly QR code and how to generate a QR code from the Calendly mobile app.

What is a Calendly QR code?

A Calendly QR code is just another way to share your booking link. Instead of sending your scheduling link via email, for example, you generate a QR code your invitee can scan with their phone to open your booking page.

Think of it as an in-person way to share your Calendly event link and book meetings on the spot. A QR code is a helpful, efficient tool to streamline networking at a conference, balancing speaking sessions and quick conversations with new connections.

The rest of the booking process works the same as usual. The QR code just cuts out those extra steps of getting someone's info and sending the link — the perk of being in person with someone is cutting out those steps.

When and why should you use a Calendly QR code?

You might be thinking, “but I can just share my scheduling link with them to book a Calendly event — how is using a QR code different?”

While sharing your link works well for async scheduling, generating a QR code is the best way to simplify scheduling at in-person events where time is tight.

Here are some use cases and meeting types you may want to book via QR code at your next event:

  • Sales demos: When chatting with a qualified lead at your booth, show them a QR code right from your phone that points to your sales team’s demo booking page.

  • Customer interviews: If you’re looking to book customer feedback calls, show your custom QR code to customers you meet in person to lock in those interviews.

  • Consulting or coaching calls: If your business runs on consultation or coaching calls, display a QR code at your booth for prospects ready to schedule meetings with you.

  • Follow-up meetings: Maintain momentum and get a "part two" booked sooner with a prospect, lead, or someone you’re networking with. At the end of a promising chat, show them the QR code that links to your one-on-one call booking page.

A lot of folks don't carry business cards anymore, and it can feel clumsy or awkward to ask for someone's contact info in a rush. It takes a few seconds to scan the QR code, versus the time it can take to get someone's email address, type out a message or copy and paste a link, and hit send.
